Tajay Gayle wrote himself into the record books with an enormous leap to win gold in the men’s long jump on the second day of the IAAF World Athletics Championships. His jump of 8.69m was a new PB, the longest jump in the world this year and a new national record, and Gayle became the first Jamaican man in history to win a World Athletics Championships field event gold.
