GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – More than 70 Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes are set to compete in the men’s and women’s 2022 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend.
The championships, hosted by the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the City of Birmingham, will be held March 11-12 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

ESPN3 will stream the championships live starting at 11 a.m. Eastern time Friday, March 11 and starting at 11:30 a.m. Eastern time Saturday, March 12. A re-air of the championship will take place starting at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time Sunday, March 13 on ESPNU.
This year’s ACC representatives include seven student-athletes who qualified for the Championships by holding the nation’s top time or mark in their respective events:
Yared Nuguse, Notre Dame – 7:38.13 in men’s 3,000 meters
Trey Cunningham, Florida State – 7.4 in men’s 60m hurdles
Adriaan Wildschutt, Florida State – 13:09.30 in men’s 5,000 meters
Daniel McArthur, North Carolina – 21:51 meters in men’s shot put
Lindsey Butler, Virginia Tech – 2:01.23 in women’s 800 meters
Lauren Ryan, Florida State – 8:47.88 in women’s 3,000 meters
Rachel Baxter, Virginia Tech – 4.61 meters in women’s pole vault
Nuguse’s 3,000 meters time stands as the fastest in NCAA history, while Cunningham and Wildschutt own the second-fastest NCAA times ever in their respective events. Cunningham enters the NCAAs as the ACC’s first-ever five-time champion in a single event, and UNC’s McArthur is one of five four-time champions.
Notre Dame’s Dylan Jacobs (13:14.04 in men’s 3,000 meters), NC State’s Von Douglas (8.08 meters in men’s long jump, NC State’s Kelsey Chmiel (15:27.36 in women’s 5,000 meters) each rank second in their respective events, as do the Notre Dame men’s distance medley relay team and the Virginia Tech women’s DMR.
Cunningham and Nuguse are both members of the current Bowerman Men’s Watch List. Cunningham is the first student-athlete in FSU school history to be named to the watch list in three different seasons.
