M Club Announces 2022 Rodman Postgraduate Scholarships

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Four graduating Maryland student-athletes and four former Terrapins were awarded M Club Rodman Postgraduate Scholarships in 2022. The M Club awards $5,000 scholarships each year to former student-athletes who are looking to continue their education post-graduation.

This year’s senior recipients are Leksana Andrews ’22 (Gymnastics), Sara Cohn ’22 (Women’s Basketball Manager), Katie Dustin ’22 (Softball), and Christine Laurie ’22 (Track & Field). The four alumni recipients are Noah Barnes ’20 (Football), Nadia Hackett ’21 (Track & Field), Chloe Prejean ’21 (Volleyball) and Caleb Walls ’20 (Baseball).

These former student-athletes have demonstrated excellence in athletics and academics during their time at the University of Maryland, received at least one varsity letter from the University of Maryland, have earned, or will earn by May 2022, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, must not be an active member of a college athletics roster in the 2022-2023 academic year, and have applied to (or enrolled in) a graduate program in an accredited institution for the purpose of pursuing an advanced degree.

“The M Club Rodman Postgraduate Scholarship Program exemplifies our mission of ‘Athletes Helping Athletes,'” said Executive Director of the M Club and Director of Alumni Engagement Laura Chiriaco. “We are proud to award $40,000 in postgraduate scholarships to deserving student-athletes this year, which is the most we have ever awarded in a single year. I want to thank our selection committee, composed of former Maryland student-athletes, for their time and dedication to selecting this year’s winners. Thank you to all of this year’s applicants for sharing your stories about how your experience as a student-athlete shaped your career development.
