BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The women of Indiana Track & Field got there turn on day two of the NCAA East Preliminary Round. Paola Fernandez, Maddy Pollard and Jayden Ulrich advanced to national championships to lead the Hoosiers.
KEY MOMENTS
• Paola Fernandez-Sola punched her ticket to NCAA Championships with a leap of the 6.33m (20′ 10.75″) in the long jump. Her mark was the third best in the field.
• Hannah Stoffel is moving on to Saturday’s 1500m quarterfinal after clocking a time of 4:15.77. The time was a personal best by nearly two seconds for Stoffel.
• Jayden Ulrich earned her ticket to national in the shot put as she threw a mark of 17.05m (55′ 11.25″).
• Maddy Pollard also advanced to Eugene in the shot put, heaving a mark of 16.87m (55′ 4.25″).
NOTABLES
• Paola Fernandez-Sola qualified for national championships for the first time in her career. She got there with a leap of 6.33m (20′ 10.75″) in the long jump.
• Hannah Stoffel made a quarterfinal of her respective events for the fifth time in her Indiana career. Stoffel’s time of 4:15.77 was the fifth fastest time in school history.
• Jayden Ulrich is off to her first career national championship after advancing in the shot put.
• This is the third outdoor national championship in a row that the throws group will be sending at least one athlete to the championships.

The Indiana men will close out their part of the meet on Friday, May 27. Grayson Rolen and Jyles Etienne in the high jump will open the meet for the Hoosiers at 2:30 p.m.
