Lady Vols Earn Three All-America Honors on Final Night of NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – The 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships concluded Saturday with the Lady Vols earning three All-America honors on the final night of the national showcase at Hayward Field.
 
Joella Lloyd opened the day for the Lady Vols in the women’s 100-meter dash. The St. John’s, Antigua and Barbuda, native finished ninth in the final at 11.29 seconds. She earned Second Team All-America honors with her placement.
 
Lloyd then returned to the track approximately 40 minutes later for the final of the women’s 200m dash. She placed eighth in the race at 22.80 seconds, claiming First Team All-America accolades and scoring the only point of the meet for the Lady Vols.
 
The first-and-second team recognition makes Lloyd a five-time All-American.
 
Sydney Seymour closed out the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Championships for Tennessee, running in the women’s 5,000m. The senior placed 13th overall at 15:51.50, earning Second Team All-America honors. For Seymour, it is her first All-America recognition.
 
UT captured eight All-America certificates during the week, led by Lloyd’s first-team honor in the women’s 200m.

Incoming Tennessee Director of Track & Field Duane Ross and North Carolina A&T scored 11 points on the women’s side at the outdoor championships. Three of his Aggie athletes finished on the podium Saturday, with a fourth-place finisher and a pair of sixth-place finishes.

UP NEXT

This closes out the 2022 Tennessee track & field season, but the Vols and Lady Vols will have athletes competing throughout the summer in national events and at the world championships.
