BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana Track & Field’s summer ramps up this weekend with multiple national championships. Maddy Pollard and Jayden Ulrich are set to compete at the 2022 Toyota USATF Outdoor Championships June 23 through June 26. Sean Mockler competes in the 2022 Irish Life Health National Track and Field Championships June 25 and 26. The US championships are being held in Eugene, Ore. while the Irish Championships are set for Dublin, Ireland.
Ulrich kicks off the weekend for the Hoosiers in discus throw which is scheduled for Friday, June 24 at 9:45 p.m. ET. Pollard will then join Ulrich in the shot put competition on Sunday, June 26. The finals of the shot put are slated for a 4 p.m. ET start.
Mockler will compete in the men’s hammer throw which is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, June 25.
Throughout the 2022 Mockler, Pollard and Ulrich were among the top of their field. As a freshman, Ulrich was the Big Ten Champion in the discus and placed seventh in the shot put at the conference meet. She also set the school record in the discus with a throw of 59.01m (193′ 7″) on her way to the conference title. Ulrich competed in the discus and shot put at the 2022 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships to end the outdoor collegiate season.
Pollard took fourth in the shot put at Big Ten Conference championships while also competing discus. She then went on to compete in Eugene at the national meet. There, she placed 16th overall in the shot put to capture All-American Second Team accolades.
Mockler was the silver medalist in the hammer throw at Big Ten Championships and also holds the program record in the event with a mark of 68.68m (225′ 4″). The freshman also went on the capture All-American Second Team honors at national championships.
