About your speaker:
Showing great promise as a self-coached young athlete (3:49(1500),4:04 (mile), 8:13(3k), 14:23(5k), unfortunately Lymes disease ended his athletics career in his early 20s. It was a natural progression for Norman to start coaching which he has now been doing continuously for 45 years.
His athletes have achieved 42 medals at the UK National Senior Outdoor Champs during this time , mainly over the 800m and 1500m distances. They have also won 1 Gold and 3 Silvers at the Major Games.
Norman’s current training squad includes 7 athletes who broke 1:50 for 800m during 2022. He was the UK National Event Coach for 800m and 1500m during 1990-1997 and is currently the President of the British Milers Club.
