Panthers Travel to Stillwater For Saturday’s Weis-Crockett Invitational

LIVE RESULTS

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men and women cross country team is set for the Weis-Crockett Invitational Saturday morning at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country course in Stillwater, OK. The Pitt men will race at 9:30 a.m. in the 8K Orange Race, while the women will compete at 10:20 a.m. in the 6K Orange Race.

The Weis-Crockett Invitational will be held at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country course located at 1405 N. Walnut Stillwater, OK 74075 where the Panthers will embark on their last regular season meet before ACC Championships.

The men’s race will consist of 27 teams. Four ranked teams and one team receiving votes.

“This is a really good opportunity for our men to compete against teams we do not normally race. This will be our last race before the ACC championships, and the course at OSU is similar to the ACC course. Jack Miller, Luke Henseler, and the boys have been looking tremendous the past couple of weeks making good improvements from Notre Dame,” stated Herbster. “Position and patience will be very important as this course will offer plenty of hills and the last 2k will be challenging,” continued Herbster.

The women will race will have three teams ranked and receiving votes.

“Our women have started to improve a great deal, you see the confidence increasing daily and they are doing a nice job of continuing to be aware of their surroundings in practice.  Allowing the mind to catch up to their fitness will be critical to our success on Saturday,” stated Herbster.

The field will comprise of Abilene Christian, Arkansas (Men #21), Butler, Cal Baptist (Women #19 & Men #29), Cal Poly, Central Arkansas, Charleston Southern, Dartmouth, DePaul, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Liberty, Little Rock, Missouri, Montana State (Men #25), Nebraska, North, Texas, Northeastern, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State (Women #3, Men #4), Oral Roberts, Pittsburgh, Portland State, Purdue, Rice, Rutgers, South Dakota State, Southern Utah, St. Louis, UC Santa Barbara, UCLA, UL-Monroe, Utah Valley (Women #19), UTEP, Vanderbilt, Washington State, Weber State, Wyoming, and Yale.
