Stillwater, Oklahoma– The Pitt cross country squad completed the Weis-Crockett Invitational Saturday morning in Stillwater, Oklahoma at the Greiner Family OSU Cross Country course.
The men’s squad finished with 153 points and the women’s squad had 144 points.
“The men were in a good position at 3k and looked to be on the move. At 5k we stopped moving up and proceeded back. In a race like this, it is critical to finish strong and build off of Notre Dame,” stated Brad Herbster.
In the men’s 8k race, Luke Henseler was the first to cross the finish with a time of 24:28.0 coming in 43rd place. Jack Miller took home 48th place with a time of 24:31.3. Luke Miller finished strong with a time of 25:04.0 and earned 92nd place. Quintin Gatons finished 116th place with a time of 25:18.7.
“The women had a tough day with 2 of the seven not finishing, we now move into championship season and are ready to move forward with strong fitness and good goals,”stated Herbster
In the women’s 6k race, Sadie Carey-Tharp was the first to cross the finish line on the women’s side and finished with a time of 21:54.3 taking home 57th place. Emily Brown finished in 70th place with a time of 22:03.2. Winnie Incorvaia came in 87th with a time of 22:14.4. Reagan Flannery collected 113th place with a time of 22:50.5.
