TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State cross country teams will start the postseason on Friday by racing in the 2022 ACC Championships at the Panorama Farms course in Earlysville, Virginia. The University of Virginia will serve as the host team.
The men’s 8k will start at 10:40 a.m., followed by the women’s 6k at 11:30 a.m. Both races will air on ACC Network Extra and live timing will be available. Coverage will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Both races will see 13 teams step to the starting line on Friday carrying a national ranking or have received votes in the latest USTFCCCA poll.

The FSU men will look to capitalize on a talent-packed field on Friday.
“The ACC’s begin the championship season and we will need to kick it off with some quality wins,” FSU head coach Bob Braman said. “Training has been great all season, but we just haven’t raced well in big meets. There are six teams ranked in the top 25 nationally, so it’s going to be a battle.”
A two-time ACC Performer of the Week, Fearghal Curtin is expected to be in the lead pack and fight for an individual title, just one year after Adriaan Wildschutt took gold ahead of Ahmed Muhumed, who won bronze.
The women’s team, who received votes in the latest Week 5 USTFCCCA Poll after being ranked 24th will look to rebound from its performance at the Nuttycombe Invite where the Noles picked up two ranked wins over No. 23 Utah State and No. 30 Harvard.
“We have bounced back really well from our race in Wisconsin with a great training block and we’re eager to begin championship season,” FSU women’s distance coach Baylee Mires said. “Our women haven’t raced this course previously, so it will be a fun adventure. We have our eyes set on a decent pack placement within the top 21.”
Last Time Out
The teams split between two meets, with the top runners competing at the Nuttycombe Invite in Madison, Wisconsin on Oct. 14.
The women placed 24th and was one of 28 teams that were ranked or receiving votes. Alyson Churchill paced the Noles, crossing the finish line in 51st with a time of 20:33.0, which was her personal best.
