Historically Black Colleges & Universities track & field meet to take place on January 14 

 The New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory was the place to be during last season’s HBCU Showcase in Washington Heights. This season’s meet will take place on Jan. 14.

NEW YORK,  Oct. 31, 2022 –Today, the Armory Foundation announced that KPMG, the U.S. accounting and professional services firm, will be the title sponsor of the 2023 HBCU Showcase track & field meet at New Balance Track & Field Center at The Armory.

The Armory Foundation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) track and field meet for men and women will take place on Saturday, January 14th,10 a.m.- 4 p.m. EST at its center in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan. The HBCU Showcase sponsored by KPMG, is expected to feature more than 30 premier HBCU track and field programs from across the country, along with performances by HBCU marching bands, step teams and choirs. There will also be an HBCU college admission fair for New York City students who are preparing for college.

National track & field powerhouse Florida A&M and North Carolina A&T are among the 20 schools already confirmed to compete in the HBCU Showcase.  Below is the full list of confirmed HBCU teams,

  • Bethune-Cookman University

  • Central State University

  • Coppin State University

  • Delaware State University

  • Edward Waters College 

  • Florida A&M University

  • Howard University

  • Huston-Tillotson University

  • Johnson C. Smith University

  • Lincoln University

  • Livingstone College

  • Morgan State University

  • North Carolina A&T State University

  • Prairie View A&M University

  • South Carolina State University

  • Texas Southern University

  • University of Maryland – Eastern Shore

  • University of the District of Columbia

  • Voorhees University
