Christian Brothers Academy put together strong back-to-back weekends to capture its Group and then the Meet of Champions at Holmdel Park in New Jersey.
The Colts won their 25th boys MOC title and regained it after falling to upstart Union Catholic in 2021.
CBA has one of its strongest and deepest lineups and the 1-2 punch of Nicholas Sullivan and Joe Barrett placed fifth and seventh at Holmdel at the MOC on Nov. 12. The Colts scored 44 points to easily beat UC, competing without injured star Jimmy Wischusen. Union Catholic took second with 98 points.
Cherokee continued to beat slightly better than Westfield as those two schools finished third and fourth.
A week earlier, at the Non-Public Group A meet, CBA beat UC 31-62. And Cherokee edged out Westfield in Group 4, 102 to 111.
Senior Micah Lawson from Rahway improved from 52nd to first to win the boys MOC individual title, running 15:33.
Union Catholic, despite absorbing an injury to Peyton Hollis, won the girls team title, 79-88 over Haddonfield Memorial.
Emma Zawatski from Freehold Township won the girls MOC race in 18:38, nine seconds faster than Lindsay Hausman from Kent Place.
