Colorado Closes Out 2022 - University of Colorado Athletics


COLORADO SPRINGS — The University of Colorado track and field program closed out the 2022 calendar year on the second day of the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Open here Saturday with the shot put and heptathlon in competition.
 
Nick Bianco and Troy Colleran finished up the heptathlon with the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000-meter dash. Bianco won the 60-meter hurdles portion in 8.30 while Colleran ran 8.93. The pole vault came up next with Colleran clearing 4.40m (14-5.25) while Bianco unfortunately no-heighted. Bianco finished out the day with a seventh-place finish in the 1,000-meter run at 2:54.65 while Colleran ran 3:05.66 for 11th.
 
Colleran finished seventh in the event with 5,039 points while Bianco finished 13th with 4,359 points.
 
In the shot put, Isaiah Bouchard finished sixth throwing 12.81 meters (42-0.5) while Jane Powers finished 11th on the women’s side throwing 11.01 meters (36-1.5).
 
The Buffaloes head into finals and winter break before returning for the first home meet of the season January 13th and 14th.
