Orange Well Represented at European Championships


Three members of the Orange competed at the European Cross Country Championships on Sunday in Italy.

The SPAR European Cross Country Championships were held in Piemonte – La Mandria Park in Italy. ‘Cuse was represented in three different races.

Teun Ter Haar competed in the U20 Men’s Championship. He traversed the 5,722-meter course in 18:47, which earned him 45th in a field of 101 of the top runners from across Europe. He was the second-fastest Dutch finisher. Great Britain’s Will Barnicoat win the race in 17:40.

Assaf Harari raced in the U23 Men’s Championship. The 21-year-old crossed the line in 25:34, over a 7.6k course. His time was good for 52nd, under two minutes behind Charles Hicks of Great Britain, who won the event.

Beatriz Fernandes raced for Portugal in the U20 women’s race. A 3,812-meter course, Fernandes took 79th in 15:16. She was 2:12 off the pace set by winner Maria Forero of Spain.

The Orange get back to indoor track season after the new year.
