Graduate transfer Chris Borzor is fitting in nicely with the Trojans’ stocked sprint corps.  He comes to USC with legal PRs of 10.33 in the 100m, 20.55 in the 200m and 46.15 in the 400m while earning his undergraduate degree from Cincinnati.  We caught up with him after his first semester at USC to see how things were going for the native of Uniondale, N.Y.

Q – What has your first semester at USC been like for you and was it what you expected?

C.B. – My first semester has been good. I expected it to be hard, but I actually handled the work load of being a student-athlete here better than I thought I would have and my  first semester here has been fun. I’ve met tons of new people and my classes have been great

Q – What is your biggest motivation?

C.B. – My mom because she inspires me to be myself. We talk every day and we’re very close, so I’d have to say she’s the reason behind why I continue to do what I do. Also, my biggest inspiration is God.

Q – Favorite thing to do outside of your busy schedule?

C.B. – I usually just play video games, and when I go off campus, I like to shop. Those things help me just kind of relax and take my mind off of things that I’m doing at the moment.

Q – What’s the biggest difference between Cincy and USC?

C.B. – The difference between Cincinnati and USC is the culture of being great. The atmosphere is full of hard work and grit (here), everyone has a drive to be better than yesterday. Of course, the weather, I get to live in Los Angeles.

Q – New York has a big culture of basketball how did you get involved in track? Did you ever play any other sports?

C.B – Yeah, I played basketball and football, but my brother, Jonathan, got me involved in track. He asked me to run with him one day and we eventually ended up doing AAU track together. So, from that point on I just kept doing track over basketball and football.

Q – Most memorable moment of your career?

C.B. – Probably winning the American Indoor Championships. I won the 200m and ran 20.84 so that was cool for me.

Q – You major in Gerontology- what inspired you too pursue that as a major?

C.B. – I’ve always wanted to help the elderly, so this is something that I think I’d want to do.
