Track and Field Resumes Indoor Season

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers track and field will return to indoor competition on Friday, Jan. 6 for the Wagner Invitational at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York. The Scarlet Knights opened the indoor season last month, hosting the Rutgers Holiday Classic at the famed Armory Track and Field Center.

The opening meet set the tone for an exciting indoor track and field season as the Scarlet Knights turned in a pair of school records on the women’s side, in addition to 15 marks on the program’s top-10 all-time performance list.

Chloe Timberg (pole vault) and Kassidy Johnson (1,000-meter) posted school records in their respective events, while the team earned wins in 13 events, including going first and second in seven events.

The Scarlet Knights will compete six consecutive weeks leading up to the 2023 Big Ten Indoor Championships at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio on Feb. 24-25. Rutgers will also host its second indoor meet of the season at the Armory with the Scarlet Knights Open on Feb. 3-4.
