EUGENE, Ore. – Three-time NCAA champion and Oregon newcomer Jorinde Van Klinken has earned a spot on The Bowerman women’s preseason watch list unveiled Tuesday afternoon. Van Klinken spent the past two seasons at Arizona State where she was undefeated (14-0) in the discus against collegiate competition.

During a standout 2022 campaign, Van Klinken won national titles in the discus—her second straight—and indoor shot put. In winning the NCAA indoor shot put, she became the No. 6 collegiate performer with a toss of 19.08m/62-7.25 in the third round.

The Assen, Netherlands, native is a two-time semifinalist for The Bowerman.

Named for legendary Oregon head coach Bill Bowerman and first awarded in 2009, The Bowerman is presented annually to the most outstanding male and female performers in collegiate track and field.

Van Klinken swept the shot put and discus titles at the 2022 Pac-12 Championships at Hayward Field, and added a runner-up performance at the NCAA Championships in the shot put to go along with the discus victory.

Representing her home country of The Netherlands, Van Klinken was a double qualifier for the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 and finished fourth in the discus. She went on to place third in the shot put and fourth in the discus at the 2022 European Championships later that summer in Germany.
