USC To Open The Indoor T&F Season At The Cougar Classic Friday

The USC Track and field team will open the indoor season at the Cougar Classic held at The Podium in Spokane, Wash. on Jan. 13.  The meet will kickoff the second season with USC Olympic hero Quincy Watts at the helm of the Trojans’ track and field program.

The meet runs from 9 a.am.-3:15 p.m. on Friday and will feature teams from the West coast, including Fresno State, Montana State, Idaho, Oregon, UNLV and host Washington State.

The Trojans have re-vamped the roster from last season by bringing in 34 new athletes, but it also feature most of their NCAA scorers from a year ago.

USC is scheduled to send 36 athletes to the Cougar Classic, over half of them making their Trojan indoor debuts.

USC athletes scheduled to compete on Friday the 13 in Washington are:

Men:  Ashton Allen, Johnnie Blockburger, Chris Borzor, Johnny Brackins Jr. Justin Braun, Jack Carter, Elias Gerald, William Jones, Malik Mixon, Tamaal Myers, Tade Ojora, Matthew Okonkwo, Michael Phillippy, Bobby Poynter, Nicholas Ramey, JC Stevenson, Brendon Stewart, Max Thomas

Women: Janiah Brown, Jassani Carter, Takiya Cenci, Caisja Chandler, Ashlee Gallegos, Kimberly Harris, Allie Jones, Jan’Taijah Jones, Bailey Lear, Gigi Maccagnini, Christine M. Mallard, Samirah Moody, Summer Mosley, Temi Ojora, Lauren Reed, Rae-Anne Serville, Kiara Strayhorn
