GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Florida Gators Track and Field teams begin their 2023 campaign this Friday at the Clemson Invitational. This marks the second consecutive year that Florida begins their indoor season at the Clemson Invite.

The Gators seek to pick up where the 2022 season ended, having won the Women’s Indoor, Women’s Outdoor, and Men’s Outdoor National titles. The Women’s Indoor National Championship was, at the time, the second title for the women under Coach Mike Holloway and the third in program history. The 2022 indoor season also saw both the men’s and women’s team finish runner up at the SEC Championship.

Both the men’s and women’s teams feature many new faces. The women’s team sees 16 student-athletes join the Gators this season with eight making their Gator debuts at the Clemson Invite. The men’s team features 13 new faces with nine competing as Gators for the first time this week.

On the men side, the Gators return four individuals who earned Indoor All-American honors; Sam Austin, Ryan Willie, Jacob Miley, and Jacory Patterson. Three will compete at the Clemson Invite this weekend. For the women, six All-Americans return Jasmine Moore, Claire Bryant, Talitha Diggs, Sterling Lester, Imogen Barrett, and Grace Stark. Five of the six will take part this weekend.

The first event Friday will begin at 2:10 p.m. ET with Gabrielle Wilkinson and Emily Culley taking part in the women’s 1000m final. The first day of the meet will see the Gators men and women compete in the 1000m, 60m hurdles, long jump, 60m, 600m. Day two begins at 10:30 a.m. ET and includes men and women in the triple jump, shot put, 300m, 800m, 200m, and 4×400 relay. In the high jump and 3000m, only the women will compete.
