Buffaloes Head To Air Force

BOULDER — The University of Colorado track and field team heads to Air Force this weekend to compete in the Ralph Lindeman Invitational beginning Thursday with the pentathlon and continuing Friday and Saturday.

The Buffs will only have freshman Riley Burkey competing Thursday as she competes in the pentathlon. She competed in the event in December at the UCCS Pre-Holiday Multi, finishing 11th with a score of 3,098 points.

The rest of the competition will begin Friday with the weight throw, long jump, high jump, along with qualifying rounds in the 60 hurdles, 60 dash, 200 and 400.

On the track, CU is only competing in the 60-meter dash with Eva Bruce for the women and Luc Andrada, Ian Gilmore and Aidan Christiansen on the men’s side. Bruce is doubling back in the hurdles and long jump while Andrada and Gilmore will double in the 200 and Christiansen in the long jump. Joy Moorer will be the only other women’s sprinter competing as she doubles in the 200 and 60 hurdles.

A number of the other combined events athletes will be hurdling and working on field events. Avery McMullen, Jada Green and Kara Lucyk are all competing in the hurdles and long jump, while the men’s duo of Nick Bianco and Troy Colleran will compete in the hurdles, pole vault and long jump.

In the jumps, Noah Bouchard will open in the high jump along with Jackson Meyer who will double back in the long jump.

All four throwing events will be contested with Gya’ni Sami, Bella Braun, Jane Powers and Obi Osafo-Mensah competing the weight throw. Osafo-Mensah and Powers will double in the shot along with Lauren and Meghan Whyrick. Lars Atkinson and Isaiah Bouchard are the only men competing in both disciplines while Henry Carlson throws the shot put with Tyler Sconce and new transfer Matt Ward competing in the weight throw.
