Badgers finish day one at Larry Wieczorek Invitational


IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Wisconsin men’s track and field completed day one of the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City on Friday.
 
Sophomore Hunter Cook cleared a personal best of 15 feet, 9 inches, finishing in second in the men’s pole vault. Multi-event athlete Quinn Lansill placed 10th with a clearance of 13-1 ½.
 
Senior Sam Craig ran a personal best at 8  minutes, 20.11 seconds, placing third in the premier 3000-meter run. Sophomore Oliver Paleen finished 12th also running a personal best of 8:33.69.
 
Redshirt sophomore Sam Amusan competed in the pro men’s 200-meter dash, finishing 10th in 22.69. Sophomore Elliott Harris ran a time of 22.03 to finish fourth in the premier 200-meter dash.

In the 600 meters, freshman Jalen Williams placed seventh in 1:21.93 while Liam Belson took 10th in 1:22.91 .

 

Up Next

Day two of the Larry Wieczorek Invitational begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The Badger throwers head to the Red Hawk Opener at Ripon, Wisconsin, beginning at 11 a.m.
