2022 RunBlogRun Winter Training Block, Week 4, Day 4, a day in the hills

Larry Eder

This is the workout for Thursday, January 26, 2023.

This is a hill day.

Hills can cure many of the weaknesses of a middle or long-distance runner. Olympic gold medalist, in his build-up to the 1976 Olympic games, used hills to build his strength and speed for defending the double at 10,000m and 5,000m. He used 800m hill, slight hills, to build his strength and speed. He was successful.

Your workout today, was warm-up, 5 x 250m hill, charging up, walk or jog down, 30 minutes at a moderate pace, then, 5 x 250m hill again, charging up, walk or jog down, slow, slow cool down, stretch, hydrate, and rest
