'Cuse Set for Meets in NYC and Boston


Syracuse will head to two separate meets this weekend, with a group of mostly sprinters headed to the Dr. Sander Invitational in New York City, while the Orange distance runners head to Boston for the John Thomas Invitational.

Orange Entries:

The Dr. Sander Invitational begins on Friday, with 11 Orange competitors set to compete in the 60-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.

Kaleia Arrington, Kahniya James, Morgan Marshall, Peyton Rollins will race in the 60-meter dash prelims, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Daijon Richards will race for the ‘Cuse men at 12:55 p.m. in the event.

The 60-meter hurdles will take place at 1:50 p.m. (women) and 2:05 p.m. (men). Shaleah Collaire and Rollins will race for the ‘Cuse women, followed by Jaheem Hayles, Isaiah Lewis, Anthony Vazquez, Naseem Smith and David Peters.

The 60-meter hurdles finals will immediately follow the prelims, with the 60-meter dash finals after that.

On Saturday, Alexander Segarra kicks things off in the 800-meter run at 10:38 a.m., followed by Kirstyn Schechter in the women’s 400 at 10:50 and Xayvion Perkins and Elijah Mallard in the men’s event at 11:10.

Colaire, Arrington and Rollins will conclude the meet in the 200-meter dash at 2 p.m.

Orange Entries:

The men’s races will take place on Friday, with the women to compete on Saturday. Nearly the entirety of the field in both genders is split between the mile and 3,000-meter runs for the Orange.

Ryder Kriley is the lone exception as he’s entered in the 800-meter run, which begins at 11:30 a.m.

Noah Carey, Karl Winter, Paul O’Donnell, Kevin Robertson, Ruben Rojas Betanzos, Eamon Burke and Kamari Miller are entered in the mile. Those races will begin at 3:30 p.m.

O’Donnell, Nathan Lawler, Assaf Harari, Alex Comerford, Matthew Scrape, Sam Lawler, Jack Whetstone, Silas Derfel, Ethan Wechsler, Alex Herbst, Gabriel Planty, Matthew Dragon and Patrick Malone will take on the 3k. That begins at 5:25 p.m.

On Saturday, Amanda Vestri, Savannah Roark, Abigail Spiers, Sydney Nowicki, Kensey May, Justus Holden-Betts and Bethany Steiner open the action at 3:45 p.m. with the mile.

At 5 p.m., the last of the ‘Cuse competitors will race for the weekend in the 3,000-meter run, with Emma Eastman, Shona McCulloch, Eleanor Lawler, Ivy Gonzales, Reilly Zink, Caroline…
