Tech Receives USTFCCCA Academic Honors – Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech cross country programs have been honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for academic success. Both the men and women have been recognized as All-Academic teams while Liz Galarza, Kate Jortberg and Helena Lindsay were named All-Academic Athletes.

The trio of Galarza, Jortberg and Lindsay produced a lot of success for Tech during the 2022 cross country season. All three athletes received All-South Region honors after earning Top 25 finishes at the Regional Championships. After an eighth-place finish in the women’s 6K at regionals, Galarza was the lone Jacket to qualify for the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships.

As a group, the women recorded a sixth-place team finish at the South Region Championships. The men’s team only finished one place behind the women, coming in seventh behind the All-South Region performance by James Cragin.

In addition to success on the cross country course, both the men and women worked hard in the classroom. The women have achieved a 3.42 team GPA and the men have recorded a 3.28 team GPA.
