LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Senior Joshua Zeller made meet history on Friday (Jan. 27) as he led the way for the University of Michigan men’s track and field team on the opening day of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational at the Norton Healthcare Sport and Learning Center.

Zeller broke a facility and meet record in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles, finishing first in his heat in 7.83. He turned around in the finals and ran a 7.88, defeating the next-closest finisher by almost a tenth of a second.

In the field events, junior Eli Winter threw a career-best 19.52m (64-0.5) in the weight throw for a fourth-place finish. His previous career-best effort was 19.78m, set just one week ago at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational.

Freshman long-jumper Jake Wall finished in sixth place in the first action on the road of his career. His 7.10m long jump was the best of any freshman in action on Friday.

Michigan will remain in Louisville on Saturday (Jan. 28) to finish the second day of the PNC Lenny Lyles Invitational. Action is set to begin at 11 a.m.
