Clemson Wraps Up Bob Pollock Invitational in Style – Clemson Tigers Official Athletics Site

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Bob Pollock Invitational wrapped up with a bang on Saturday, as Clemson had several top-performances. The men’s 4×400 meter relay closed out the meet with a 3:06.76 time, which is second-best in school history.

During the meet, Clemson recognized ACC UNITE Award winner Wayne Jenkins.

Clemson will continue its season on Friday, Feb. 3 in Blacksburg, Va. for the VT Challenge. The following weekend Clemson will host its annual Tiger Paw Invitational for the final home meet of the season.

SATURDAY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Tarees Rhoden ran a season best 1:48.51 in the 800 meter to win the event. Entering the weekend, that would be good for the 13th fastest time this season.
  • Wanya McCoy ran a 20.70 200 meter dash which is the third fastest time in school history.
  • The men’s 4×400 meter relay ran a very impressive 3:06.76, good for second best in school history.

FRIDAY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Brynne Sumner’s 4:47.51 mile put her on Clemson’s all-time top-10 list in the event. She now owns the No. 10 spot in school history.
  • Oneka Wilson ran a 8.25 60 meter hurdles, good for a tie for 8th best in school history. She finished fourth in the event.
  • Giano Roberts improved upon his personal best to run a 7.67 60 meter hurdles, moving into sole possession of No. 4 on Clemson’s all-time top-10 list. In the finals, he topped that number to move to 7.66 and came in second place in the event.
  • Daniel Cope threw another season-best 21.85 in the weight throw, finishing second overall.
  • Ockera Myrie matched her personal best in the 60 meter dash with a 7.42 second time.
  • Wanya McCoy set a PR in the 60m dash and came in second with a time of 6.66.
  • Marie Forbes improved upon her No. 2 all-time weight throw personal best, setting the new mark at 21.94 meters.
