Track and Field Hosts Scarlet Knights Open


NEW YORK – Rutgers track and field will return to the historic Armory Track to host the Scarlet Knights Open on Friday, Feb. 3 and Saturday, Feb. 4. The team is coming off standout weekend that saw two school records and several Big Ten and NCAA qualifying performances.

The Scarlet Knights have set school records in six events this season, including Chloe Timberg who topped her own pole vault record three times and captured the facility record in the event at Ocean Breeze Park in Staten Island.
 
Rutgers also earned school records in the men’s 60-meter and four events on the women’s side – 60-meter, 1,000-meter, mile and pole vault.
 
The two-day Scarlet Knights Open will prep the program for its final tune up weekend on Feb. 10 before heading into the 2023 Big Ten Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 24 at Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
