Wildcats Complete Pentathlon in Day One of WSU Meet


SPOKANE, Wash. – Arizona Track and Field began the three-day WSU Open/Invite & Multi’s with the completion of the women’s pentathlon on Thursday.

The Wildcats had two competitors on the day, Skylar Sieben and Hollan Powers. Powers led the way, competing in the 60m hurdles, high jump, shot put, long jump, and 800m. She finished fourth overall with a score of 3738. To start things off though, Sieben edged out her teammate in the 60m hurdles, as the pair finished fourth (8.81) and fifth (8.86). However, Powers went on to win the 800m with a PR time of 2:20.83 and finished third in the long jump with a leap of 5.44m (17-10.25). Sieben also placed fourth in the shot put with a throw of 11.60m (38-0.75).

 

The meet will continue tomorrow with the completion of the men’s heptathlon kicking things off at 12:00 p.m. MST. On Saturday, the final day of the competition, the events will begin at 1:00 p.m. MST with the women’s 3k. Live results for all the action can be found here.
