MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s track and field team travels to Chicago for the Badgers Windy City Invitational at the Gately Indoor Stadium this weekend. The Badgers compete against Indiana, Michigan State, Howard, Minnesota, Purdue, Michigan State, Stanford, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Notre Dame, Loyola, UCLA, and South Florida. Field events begin at 2 p.m. on Friday with running events starting at 3:35 p.m. On Saturday, all events start at 12:40 p.m.

Here are the five things to watch for this weekend:
1. THE RANKINGS: Wisconsin is ranked No.2 in the Great Lakes Region, according to the most rankings by the USTFCCCA. Indiana comes in a No.1 while Michigan (fifth), Ohio State (seventh) and Purdue (eighth) are ranked in the top 10.
2. SPRINTING BADGERS: Senior Lawrence Johnson leads the Badgers’ sprint crew, coming off a win in the 60 meters last weekend at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic. He is ranked first in the Big Ten and ninth in the NCAA this season. Johnson could also see action in the 200 meters, where he ranks seventh in the Big Ten, along with teammates Sam Amusan and Elliott Harris. Senior Colin Enz ran a personal best of 47.24 in the 400 meters last weekend in New Mexico, ranking him fourth in the Big Ten and eighth all-time at UW. Freshman Giovanni Wearing and Jalen Williams will also be competing this weekend in the sprints and hurdles, respectively.
3. BADGER THROWS: In the weight throw, grad student Sam Coil has a personal best of 72-1 1/2, which ranks fourth in the Big Ten and 11th in the NCAA this season as well as third all-time at UW. Redshirt junior Jason Swarens ranks eighth in the weight throw at 67-9. In the shot put, Swarens ranks eighth in the Big Ten at 61-6 1/4 while Andrew Stone sits 10th at 60-6.
4. MIDDLE DISTANCE STANDOUTS: Wisconsin middle distance starts Abdullahi Hassan and Adam Spencer could compete anywhere from the 600 meters to mile. Hassan ranks 12th in the Big Ten in the 600 meters and 16th in the 800 meters. Spencer, the reigning Big Ten outdoor champion in the 1500 meters, sits eighth in the 800 meters
