THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field teams finished the first day of competition at Vanderbilt’s Music City Challenge and Clemson’s Tiger Paw Invite on Friday, Feb. 10.
TIGER PAW INVITE
In the men’s mile, Myles Collins was the first Yellow Jacket to cross the finish line with a third-place time of 4:09.97. Charlie Smith followed Collins in fourth place (4:10.23) and Chris Cherono placed sixth with a time of 4:11.01. On the women’s side, Riley Perlakowski finished seventh with a time of 4:59.02.
MUSIC CITY CHALLENGE
Two Jackets recorded personal-best performances in the men’s mile. Nick Nyman finished 37th with a time of 4:08.09. Joshua Williams ran a time of 4:09.29, finished in 46th place.
Kate Jortberg led Tech in the women’s 5,000 meters with a personal-best time of 16:57.46 and placed 19th overall.
