RALEIGH NC State had multiple Top-15 finishes in multiple meets on Saturday.
The Wolfpack sent a group of sprinters and throwers to Blacksburg for the Virginia Tech Challenge. NC State also had a distance runner at the JDL DMR in Winston-Salem.
Virginia Tech Challenge
Sprints
Alexander Nunley was the lone men’s sprinter on Saturday, finishing eighth in the 200 with a time of 22.62, his best mark this year.
Throws
Katie Horne set the tone for the Wolfpack women, throwing a personal best (40’3 ½”) in the shot put, finishing seventh.
NC State had three athletes in the Top-10. Horne’s teammates Mahkayla Hart (38’6″) finished ninth; Sydney Freeman (36’11”) finished 10th.
Jakerra Covington rounded out the Top-15 with an 11th place finish, throwing 35’6 ¾”).
Freshman Nathan Lau finished seventh in the men’s shot put with a throw of 47’5 ¼”.

Distance
Grant Howlett was the lone NC State runner to participate in the morning session, finishing 10th in the 800m.
