Bulldogs To Open SEC Indoor Championships On Friday


FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Mississippi State track and field program begins the postseason on Friday with nine Bulldogs in possession of top-20 times/marks in the country at the start of the 2023 SEC Indoor Championships. The SEC Indoor Championships will take place Friday (Feb. 24) and Saturday (Feb. 25) at Randal Tyson Track Center with Arkansas serving as the host school.
 
The meet begins at 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday and 12 p.m. on Saturday. A link to live results can be found at SECsports.com or through the link listed below.
 
Live coverage of the SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships will air on SECN+ at 1:30 p.m. CT on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The broadcast talent includes Dwight Stones, Dan O’Brien, Larra Overton and John Anderson. A tape-delayed broadcast of the Championship will air on the SEC Network Sunday at 7 p.m. CT.
 

A total of 19 Southeastern Conference men’s and women’s track and field programs are included in the top-25 of the latest NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field National Rating Index released Monday. Mississippi State’s men enter the meet ranked No. 20 nationally. No other conference has more than four teams in the men’s top-25.
 
Cameron Crump enters this weekend’s Indoor Championships with the SEC’s top mark in the long jump, while he ranks No. 2 nationally in the event. Crump’s first-place mark of 8.21m (26-11.25) at the Tiger Paw Invitational set a new school record and facility record on Feb. 10.
 
Three different Bulldogs enter the weekend having already set new school records this indoor season with Crump (LJ), Peyton Bair (Heptathlon) and Jhordyn Stallworth (SP) holding top marks in their respective events.
 
Mississippi State’s top 20 national performers include Crump (LJ), Navasky Anderson (800m), Rosealee Cooper (60mH), Tony Jones (HJ), Gabriel Moronta (400m) and the men’s 4x400m relay team of Doval Simmonds, Anthony Brodie, Lee Eppie and Moronta.
