Cougars to close indoor season at Ken Shannon Last Chance Invite

LAST TIME OUT: (Arkansas Qualifier)   

Freshman Mason Lawyer (21.13) continued to put his stamp on the Cougar record books as he lowered his freshman record 200m time for the second time this season to take third last week. Lawyer is within striking distance of the program record.
 

Columbia native Ronald Grueso Mosqquera has continued to show his dominance in the shot put this season. The sophomore has not finished below fourth place in any meet this season. Grueso Mosqquera finished in fourth place with a throw of 17.76m competing against the Arkansaw Qualifier meet record holder.  

 

The freshman record holder for the shot put, Nana Gyedu, continues to win as she picked up her fourth win of the season, notching a shotput throw of 14.96m. Gyedu has finished in the top three in every meet during the indoor season.   

 

IN THE RANKINGS: 

Washington State’s women’s hurdles group has maintained its ranking as the No. 7 event group in the nation, holding their average time to 8.43 so far in the season. Maribel Caicedo produced the first sub-eight-second hurdles time in program history during the Don Kirby Elite meet and is stilln fourth in the country. The qualifying mark for the indoor championships is currently 8.13 seconds.
 

Ronald Grueso-Mosqquera blasted past his personal best distance at the WSU Open and Multi with a shot-put throw of 18.55m ranking 37th in the country so far this season. At the moment, the qualifying mark for the Indoor Championships is 19.54m.
