Among Friday’s schedule events, the pentathlon is set to begin at 12:30 p.m. with the UO trio of Taylor Chocek, Colleen Uzoekwe and Gianna Bullock aiming to improve on their season-best scores from the Texas Tech Multis (Jan. 26). Chocek posted a score of 4,075 points in Lubbock, a total currently ranked among the top 20 in the country but just outside the coveted top 16.
With her performance at the Texas Tech meet, Chocek became the fourth woman in program history to reach 4,000 points. Uzoekwe (3,904) and Bullock (3,823) are ranked seventh and ninth, respectively, on the UO top-10 list.
Friday’s field action will also feature the triple jump where Lexi Ellis is currently fifth in the NCAA with a season’s best of 13.50m/44-3.5 from the Texas Tech Open, just six centimeters off her personal best. In the men’s triple jump, Jonah Tactay got out to a PB of 15.33m/50-3.5 at the Don Kirby Invitational (Feb. 11) which sits just outside the program’s top 10.
The women’s 60-meter hurdles will be the first event on the track Friday. Freshman Aaliyah McCormick owns a best of 8.01 from a runner-up performance at the Don Kirby meet. Adjusted to 8.03 for altitude, she enters the weekend ranked sixth in the NCAA in the event.
