FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Zach Davis and Jack Mann III earned hardware for the Texas A&M men’s and women’s track & field teams as day one of the SEC Indoor Championships wrapped up at the Randal Tyson Track Center on Friday.
 

Davis and Mann, the pair of men’s pole vaulters, both recorded a mark of 17-4.5/5.30m to tie for the bronze medal and combine to earn a total of 11 points for the team. Mann moves to the No. 11 spot on the Texas A&M all-time list, while Davis doubles his SEC Indoor medal count, adding to his gold from 2022.
 
The Aggies also received points from Eric Casarez, along with the men’s distance medley relay team. Casarez raced to an eighth-place finish in 14:22.17 to earn one point for the men, while the DMR team clocked 9:48.16 to finish eighth, also earning a point for the Maroon & White.
 
In the men’s 60m hurdles, Connor Schulman set a new personal best of 7.70 to finish with the second-best time of the day, advancing him to Saturday’s final. Schulman improved his spot on the Aggie all-time list, equaling the third-best mark in school history. He will compete for a medal in the men’s 60m hurdle final at 5:20 p.m. on Saturday.
 
Gavin Hoffpauir snagged a spot in the men’s mile final after finishing sixth in his heat at 4:04.93. Hoffpauir stormed to cross the line in a photo finish, only trailing the winner of the heat by .68 seconds. Saturday’s mile final is set to begin the running events at 4:05 p.m.
 
Joniar Thomas and Ally Andress competed in the pentathlon competition, where Thomas scored two points for the Aggies, finishing seventh with a score of 3900 points and becoming the seventh-best Aggie in history. Andress finished with a total of 3839 points to earn ninth place and move her name up to the No. 8 spot in the Texas A&M record book. Thomas and Andress combined for a total of eight personal bests throughout the day.
 
Heather Abadie also contributed to the women’s team’s point total, earning three points for the Aggies after clearing 13-5.75/4.11m to finish sixth in the pole vault.
