Irish Conclude 2023 ACC Indoor Championship – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Fighting Irish wrapped up the 2023 ACC Indoor Championships on Saturday after a successful weekend. The final day was headlined by the women’s mile and the women’s 3000 meter races for the Irish. Katie Thronson took second place in the mile while Olivia Markezich took third in the 3000 meter.

Notre Dame had two members of the team qualify for the women’s mile final. Thronson took second place with a time of 4:39.81 adding to her medal tally for the weekend. Teammate Anna Sophia Keller took eighth place in the mile with a time of 4:43.95.

Michael Shoaf took fourth place in the shot put with a throw of 18.38m. Henry Boudreau also represented the Irish in the shot put where he hit a mark of 15.11m.

Markezich, Siona Chisholm and Sophie Novak represented the Irish in the women’s 3000m final. Markezich took third place with a time of 9:01.82, while Chisholm crossed the finish line at 9:13.90. Novak finished with a time of 9:34.37. In the men’s race, Nick Mota finished with a time of 8:16.66. 

The final event of the weekend was the 4×400 meter relay. The women’s team of Molly Bennet, Jadin O’Brien, Katie Ryan, and Eve Balseiro ran for a time of 3:40.37. 

The Irish will continue their postseason competition on March 11 and March 12 when they travel to Albuquerque, New Mexico for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.
