UW sends 11 to NCAA Indoor Championships


MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin men’s and women’s track and field teams will send 11 athletes competing in nine events to the NCAA Indoor Championships on March 10-11 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The Badger men have seven athletes, competing in six events, while the women’s team has four athletes, competing in three events.

UW has five athletes in scoring position (top eight) heading into the NCAA meet.

The Badger men are tied for third in the distance medley relay with the team of Adam Spencer, Colin Enz, Abdullahi Hassan and Jackson Sharp that ran a Big Ten Conference record of 9 minutes, 19.99 seconds on Feb. 18.

Senior Lawrence Johnson is seeded fourth in the men’s 60-meter dash with a school record of 6.54 while redshirt senior Josie Schaefer is fourth in the women’s shot put, throwing a school record of 61 feet, 0 ¼ inches.

In the weight throw, graduate student Sam Coil is ranked fourth in the men’s event at 73-9 ½ while redshirt junior Chloe Lindeman is fifth in the women’s weight throw with a school record of 78-0.

The championships will be streamed live on ESPN+.
