Washington, Robinson & 4x400 All Earn All-America Honors at NCAA Championships


ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico – Sun Devil Track and Field is returning to Tempe with a pair of first-team All-Americans! Competing at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Turner Washington claimed his sixth NCAA medal with his third-place finish in the shot put, while the men’s 4×400 relay group of Jalen Drayden, Jeremiah Curry, Dubem Nwachukwu and Justin Robinson finished fourth overall to also earn first-team honors. Robinson took ninth in the 400m too, earning second-team All-America honors. As a team, the Sun Devils finished 19th with 11 points.

ASU NCAA Indoor Championships Results

  • Turner Washington, shot put, 20.72m/67-11¾ – bronze medal
  • 4×400 Relay: Drayden, Curry, Nwachukwu, Robinson, 3:03.58 – 4th place
  • Justin Robinson, 400m, 45.90 – 9th place

 
Washington has now finished on a NCAA podium six times in his career. He’s a three-time shot put champion (two indoor, one outdoor) and also has a discus crown and a silver medal in the outdoor shot from 2022. This is ASU’s first 4×4 All-American squad since 2010 when the Sun Devils earned the honor at both the indoor and outdoor championships. This is Robinson’s first NCAA All-America honor.
 
ASU has a week off before the outdoor season kicks off on March 23 with San Diego State’s Aztec Invitational.
