Wolfpack Set to Open Outdoor Season at Black and Gold Invite


RALEIGH – The NC State track and field program is set to open its outdoor campaign at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational in Orlando, Florida on Friday, March 17.

LAST TIME OUT

The Wolfpack saw nine athletes qualify for and compete in the 2023 NCAA Indoor Championships.

The weekend was highlighted by Katelyn Tuohy winning two individual National Championships in consecutive days. She first claimed gold on Friday, winning the women’s 5000m with a time of 16:09.65. Her second title came on Saturday in the 3000m, where she turned in a mark of 9:10.07 to record the first-place finish.

In addition to Tuohy’s titles, the eight remaining NC State athletes all garnered All-American accolades.

Kelsey Chmiel (5000m and 3000m), Sydney Seymour (5000m), Alex Lang (60m), and Joshua Brockman (60m Hurdles) all took home First-Team All-American honors.

The grouping of Savannah Shaw, Caroline Lewis, Grace Hartman, and Sam Bush achieved First-Team All-American status as well for their performance in the women’s DMR. 

Cam Murray (60m Hurdles) and Bush (3000m) each grabbed Second-Team All-American marks.
