Meijer, Ellenberg, and Liking sweep 5,000 meters


TAMPA, Fla. – The Wisconsin men’s track and field team finished the two-day USF Bulls Invitational meet in Tampa, Florida, on Saturday  

Badgers Sweep 5,000 run

Great Britain native Jack Meijer won the men’s 5,000-meter run on Friday, running 14 minutes, 57.37 seconds. Badgers Rowen Ellenberg and Bob Liking followed right after, with Ellenberg second in 14:57.42 and Liking in third at 14:57.64.

On Friday, Cole Hooper finished seventh in the hammer throw with a toss of 198-3

Freshman Giovanni Wearing placed eighth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.11

On Saturday, the redshirt-junior Jason Swarens threw a personal best of 171-9 in the discus, finishing seventh.

Wearing placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles running a wind-aided time of 14.32. 

Freshman Jalen Williams took fourth in the 400-meter dash in 47.73
