FLORIDA STATE WRAPS UP FSU RELAYS WITH TOP NATIONAL PERFORMANCES/ MULLARKEY RUNS NCAA BEST IN RALEIGH

The Annual FSU Track & Field Relays finished Saturday afternoon with impressive performances throughout the field that included eight collegiate teams.  The Seminoles posted several Top Five national marks by both men and women.

Florida State’s men’s 4×100 relay team consisting of Taylor Banks, Amir Willis, Jovaughn Martin and Ismael Kone is already emerging as one of the nation’s top teams.  The four flew around the track winning with a time of 39.04 which is the second fastest time in the NCAA this year.

Senior Milton Ingraham has also had an outstanding start to the outdoor season winning the discus with a throw of 60.45 meters that is not only the third-best in the nation this season but is the third-longest in Florida State history.

FSU also took the win in the men’s 400 meters with senior James Rivera powering past the field with a winning time of 51.51.

A pair of sophomores had sensational performances in the hurdles.  Alexandra Webster won the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 13.12 which is the eighth-best in Seminole history.  She followed that with the NCAA’s third-best time of the year in winning the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 56.96.  Teammate Tyra Wilson was right on her heels posting the third-best time in FSU history in the 100 meter hurdles, and a time of 51.91 which is the seventh-best time in the event this year.

Caisa-Marie Lindfors finished second in the discus with an outstanding effort of 54.67 which is a good indication she is returning to full strength after battling injuries most of the last two years.

Winston Quinn was third in the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1:52.68 and Cameron Daniel was sixth posting a time of 1:53.18.

Sophomore Michelle Petit-Pointe’s time of 57.31 in the women’s 400 meters was good for sixth place.

Suus Altorf was third in the women’s 1500 meters with a time of 4:27.87 and Marit Gripe was ninth at 4:46.97.

In the men’s 100 meter dash, Alex Collier and Sean Watkins finished fourth and fifth respectively with Collier clocking in at 10.52 and Watkins at 10.57.

Last night at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State, sophomore David Mullarkey ran the third fastest 5,000 meters in school history and the fastest in the NCAA this year with a personal best time of 13:37.88.

Select members of FSU’s distance group will continue competing Friday and Saturday in Raleigh.
