Emily Brown Sets A New School Record In The Women’s 3000m Steeplechase


RALEIGH, N.C./ PITTSBURGH— The University of Pittsburgh track & field program wrapped up competition at Raleigh Relays and CMU Invitational this weekend with a new school record and top-10 program marks.

Emily Brown took home fifth place in the women’s 3000m steeplechase with a time of 10:13.40 to set a new school record and personal best time. She currently sits at fifth best in the region. On the men’s side of the steeplechase, Jack Miller collected eighth place with a time of 8:45.88. Miller is currently third in program history and fourth in the region.

In the women’s 10000m, Winnie Incorvaia notched third with a time of 35:29.98. She claimed the third best time in program history. On the men’s side, Luke Henseler collected sixth place with a time of 30:07.90. Henseler sits at sixth best in program history.

Quintin Gatons earned eighth place in the men’s 5000m with a time of 14:17.60. Gatons recorded the eighth-best time in program history.

 

CMU Invitational

In the women’s hammer throw, Foluke Olujide-Ajibade placed ninth with a mark 60.66m. Olujide-Ajibade sits at second-best in program history and ninth in the nation.

Daniel Amaya secured 3rd place in the men’s hammer throw with a mark of 60.73m (199’3″). He remains at third best in program history.

In the men’s discuss, Otoniel Badjana placed 6th with a mark of 50.14m to claim a personal best and the sixth-best mark in program history. Niya Crawford placed first on the women’s side with a mark of 43.01m

On the track, Sydney McCallum took home first place in the women’s 100m with a time of 12.13 and Alma Evuna Eki placed fourth with a time of 12.60.

In the women’s 1500m, Claire Hoffman recorded a first-place finish with a time of 4:42.51.

Back on the field, Anais Williams collected second place with a mark of 11.11m in the women’s triple jump.

FJ Braccini earned third place with a mark of 54.15m in the men’s Javelin.
