TCS London Mini Marathon

Scotland teams have been selected for the 2023 TCS London Mini Marathon next month.

This event now takes place on a Saturday, the day before the main London Marathon, and will happen on Saturday 22 April.

Races are now over a shorter course of 2.6k, which was introduced in 2021 and featured in the event back in October 2022 when Scotland teams were among those to compete.

Today we are delighted to name 24 young athletes to compete with thanks to the Road Running and Cross Country Commission for supporting this important international opportunity for developing athletes.

With four teams of six athletes across the U15 and U17 age groups, there’s a great chance for young Scots to experience the landmark event.

Selections were based on the recent Young Athletes Road Races at East Fortune, where the top four in each age group were picked automatically – with two other places at the discretion of our panel of selectors.

There are no fewer than 15 different clubs represented with large contingents from Giffnock North (five) and Kilbarchan AAC (four) and two apiece from Strathearn Harriers, Ross County AC and East Kilbride AC.

That reflects superbly on those clubs and great to see the Western Isles represented via a selection for Stornoway RAC!

Congratulations to all the athletes selected and to their coaches and families as well as the clubs for all their hard work in helping on the development pathway.
