STANFORD, Calif. – The Utah track & field team closed out the Stanford Invitational on Saturday with Josefine Eriksen breaking the 200m school record at Cobb Track and Angell Field.
The junior’s run saw her cross the finish line at 23.92 to break Alissa Atisme’s seven-year-old record that was set back in 2016. Newcomer Dee Denis added her name to the record books as well after posting a 24.20 mark – which moved her into third all-time while Emily Martin won her section of the 200m dash behind the fourth-fastest time in program history (24.40). Maya LeBar also ran in the 200m, checking in just after Martin at 24.96.
Utah’s 4x400m relay team took third overall at the meet with Denis, Harley Daniel, Rachel Whipple and Erin Vringer running 3:42.38. Shana Van Elderen reached recorded her best mark of the day on her fourth attempt in the triple jump, reeling in a mark of 11.79m (38-8.25).
Over at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Bri Rinn took third overall in the 800m race with a PR run of 2:10.91 with Millie Wilcox wrapping up the top-8 with a mark of 2:12.61 and Erin Vringer checking in at 2:12.86 for third in her heat.

The Utes now return home to host the Utah Spring Classic next weekend (April 7-8) at the McCarthey Family Track & Field Complex. Weber State will host the throwing events on Friday, April 7, while the Utes host the long jump, 3000m steeplechase and 5000m races starting at 5:30 p.m. (MT). Field events will then begin at 11 a.m. (MT) on Saturday, April 8, with the track events beginning at noon with the 4x100m relay. The kid’s race is scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. while senior recognitions will take play at approximately 2:50 p.m. near the finish line on the east side of the track.
