See becomes only prep thrower in the country this season with 190-foot discus and 60-foot shot put following personal-best 61-11.75 (18.89m) to complete sweep; Harris triumphs in both girls hurdling events, with Ricks winning 400 and helping state-leading DMR and Thomsen setting 1,600 meet record

PALO ALTO, Calif. – With the infield shot put ring at Cobb Track and Angell Field surrounded by several collegiate athletes who he will look to level up against next year when he transitions to Oklahoma, Brendon See demonstrated that his versatility is without equal among his high school peers so far this season following his performances Saturday at the Stanford Invitational.
See, a senior at JSerra High in California, became the only male thrower in the country this year to surpass 190 feet in the discus and 60 feet in the shot put following his lifetime-best effort in the latter of 61-11.75 (18.89m) on his final attempt.

See also won the discus with a 187-foot throw (57.01m) on his third opportunity and remains ranked No. 2 in the country at 190-6 (58.06m) with his March 11 performance in Irvine.
See was the only male high school athlete at the two-day meet to win multiple individual events, with Yvette Harris of Stockton Lincoln High sweeping both girls hurdling competitions.
Harris rallied in the 100-meter hurdles final to hold off Rocklin’s Gigi Kirchner by a 13.95 to 14.14 margin, one day after clocking 1:01.82 to prevail in the top section in the 400 hurdles.
Xai Ricks, a junior at Long Beach Poly, followed his national-leading 1:49.19 performance March 25 in the 800 at the Meet of Champions Distance Classic at Azusa Pacific by winning the elite section of the 400 at Stanford in 47.74.
Ricks also ran the 800 leg on the Jackrabbits’ state-leading distance medley relay, joining Lamarr Kirk Jr., Noah Smith and Cameron Rhone to clock 10:08.97, second only to the 10:08.09 effort achieved by Austin Vandegrift High at the 95th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays.
Menlo School set the program record of 10:13.17, elevating to No. 2 in California and the fourth-fastest lineup in the country this season. Justin Pretre, who anchored for Menlo, added another school record by clocking 1:52.98 in the 800 to place second by Joe Lighthall of Hughson High in 1:52.64.
