Irish Find Success at Jack Shaw Invitational – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

KALAMAZOO, MI – The Irish finished another successful outing of the outdoor track season at the Jack Shaw Invitational. The Irish swept the podium, took event titles, and tallied personal bests in multiple events.

Shae Douglas kicked off the success for the Irish when she took first place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.36. In the 100 meter hurdles Caroline Lewis finished in second place with a time of 15.56.

Eve Balseiro and Remy Finn couldn’t miss out on the fun when they took first and second place in the 400 meter dash. Balseiro finished with a time of 55.44 and Finn earned a new personal best when she crossed the finish line at 56.36. 

In the men’s 400 meter dash, Joey Dobrydney took first place with a time of 47.98. Teammate John Oleksak took second place at 49.30. Luke Phillips took fifth place with a time of 50.20 and right behind was teammate Matthew Cornelius who finished in sixth place crossing the finish line at 50.52.

The 400 meter hurdles saw a ton of success from the Irish when they took first, second and fourth place. Reese Sanders led the way for the Irish with a time of 1:01.05, followed by Molly Bennet who took a time of 1:03.46 and Juliana Keenan finished with a time of 1:07.40.

Madison Schmidt shined bright again with a first place finish in the high jump. She hit a mark of 1.72 meters. The Irish swept the podium with second and third place going to Arianna Martinez and Sarah Flight, respectively. Martinez and Flight both hit a mark of 1.70 meters.

Olivia Fabry led the way in the women’s pole vault taking first place with a mark of 3.60 meters. Alexandra Chlumsky took third place with a mark of 3.15 meters. In the long jump Lewis took second place with a jump of 5.51 meters. Kendall Burgess was right behind as she jumped for a mark of 5.50 meters.

The Irish are back in action on April 14 when they head to Louisville for the Jim Freeman Louisville Invite.
