Record Number of Athletes Named to All-ACC Academic Team


GREENSBORO, N.C. – A combined 23 members of the NC State track and field team have been named to the All-ACC Indoor Track and Field Academic Team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Thirteen female athletes and 10 male athletes will represent the Wolfpack on the Academic team.

This sets a school record for the total number of athletes that received this honor, as well as school records for the individual number of female and male athletes named to the squad.

2022-2023 All-ACC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Academic Team:

Laurel Black – Sports Management

Kelsey Chmiel – Animal Science

Nasheeda Facey – Business Administration

Sydney Freeman – Criminology

Grace Hartman – Psychology

Ally Henson – Business Administration

Caroline Lewis – Paper Science & Engineering

Katelyn Tuohy – Business Administration

Makala Wright – Business Administration

Gianna Quarzo – Sport Management

Brooke Rauber – Biological Sciences

Savannah Shaw – Communication

Sydney Seymour – Sport & Entertainment Venue Management

2022-2023 All-ACC Men’s Indoor Track and Field Academic Team:

Joshua Brockman – Business Administration

Brett Gardner – Mechanical Engineering

Patrick Gibbons – Engineering First Year

Ian Harrison – Electrical Engineering

Zach Hughes – Sport Management

Travis Koekemoer – Exploratory Studies

Wesley Larson – Civil Engineering

Nathan Lau – Engineering First Year

Cameron Murray – Sport & Entertainment Venue Mgt.

David Vorbach – Geospatial Info Science & Tech

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Indoor Track and Field Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in the ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships and/or the NCAA Indoor Championships during the most recent season.
