WALNUT, Calif. – Arizona Track and Field finished up the first day of the Mt. SAC Relays at Hilmer Lodge Stadium on Friday. The team recorded multiple top finishes among both collegiate and invitational competitions, including freshman Tapenisa Havea winning the collegiate shot put.

FIELD HIGHLIGHTS
Tapenisa Havea started the day by continuing her success in the women’s collegiate shot put, winning the event for the third week in a row. Havea posted a personal best toss of 16.76m (55-0) on her way to victory. Additionally, Mackenna Orie placed fifth overall with a throw of 15.70m (51-6.25).
Havea accompanied her performance from earlier with a top-three finish in the women’s collegiate discus. She placed third overall with a PR throw of 53.50m (175-6). Orie finished eighth in the event as well with a toss of 51.64m (169-5).
Jenica Bosko followed up her strong performance from last week with another top finish in the women’s collegiate long jump. Bosko placed runner-up in the event with a mark of 6.33m (20-9.25). Hollan Powers posted a personal best leap as well.
In the men’s collegiate long jump, Reinaldo Rodrigues placed third overall with a leap of 7.44m (24-5).
In the men’s collegiate discus, Youssef Koudssi finished third overall and Zach Landa placed fifth. Koudssi’s best throw on the day was 55.40m (181-9) and Landa’s best was 54.35m (178-3).
Taylen Wise finished in eighth place in the women’s collegiate triple jump with a leap of 12.46m (40-10.5).
In the men’s invitational javelin, Jared O’Riley had a throw of 68.31m (224-1).
TRACK HIGHLIGHTS
Noah Jodon wrapped up the day for the Wildcats, finishing second in the men’s collegiate 5000m with a PR time of 14:24.05. Jeffrey Sillers clocked a personal best time in the event as well. Additionally, Ian Sanchez Lopez clocked a time of 14:05.26 in the men’s invitational 5000m.
