SEATTLE – Select members of the Husky distance groups will make a return trip to Stanford this weekend to take part in the Payton Jordan Invitational, held at Cobb track & Angell Field on Friday and Saturday, Apr. 21-22. A few Huskies heading to the Bay will be making their outdoor season debuts.

Nine members of the women’s distance team and four members of the men’s squad will be making the trip, in what will be the only competition for the Huskies this weekend after last week’s busy three-meet week in SoCal. The meet will be streamed live on Flotrack.org.

Propelled by last week’s results, the Husky men’s team moved up to No. 11 in the national outdoor rankings, while the women’s team moved up to No. 15, both season-highs.

Among the Huskies making their outdoor season debuts are Anna Gibson and Madison Heisterman in the women’s 1,500-meters, and Will Laird in the men’s 1,500-meters.

First up on Friday will be Ed Trippas in the men’s steeple at 6:50 p.m., followed by five women in the 5,000-meters at 7:20, then two men in the 5,000-meters at 8:05.

Saturday, the 1,500-meters get started at 3:15 p.m. and then Carley Thomas will wrap things up for UW in the 800-meters at 4:40 p.m.
