Irish Successful at Drake Relays – Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Official Athletics Website

DES MOINES, IA.- Notre Dame sent a few members of the jumps and sprints squads to represent the Irish at the 2023 Drake Relays. The Irish finished the weekend with multiple top five finishes.

Remy Finn was the lone Fighting Irish member of the 400 meter final. She ran for a time of 56.31. Alaina Brady was in the 100 meter hurdles where she placed second in her heat for an automatic qualifying time into the finals (13.73). In the finals Brady took fifth place with a time of 13.56.  Brady also competed in the long jump where she hit a mark of 5.40 meters.

Reese Sanders dominated the 400 meter hurdles where she took third place and crossed the finish line for a new personal best at 59.08. In the men’s 400 meter race Joey Dobrydney finished in sixth place with a time of 48.51. 

The women’s high jump saw Madison Schmidt take third place. She hit a mark of 1.73 meters. In the men’s 800 meter final, Nick Miller crossed the finish line at 1:51.61.

The Irish are back in action for the final regular season meet on May 5 at the Billy Hayes Invitational.
